As an officer… Keep your head in the game! There is no such thing as a risk-free traffic stop.
See a traffic stop + “arrest” going fatally wrong by using the wrong procedures and no common sense.
About the stop-arrest:
I understand there are different procedures all over the world but this is definitely a dangerous one.
I will mention SOME points:
» It stated that he was already arrested so why no search, handcuffing etc.
» Normally you do your information gathering before the arrest so you can take the suspect from his own vehicle though the right procedure before putting him in the patrol car.
» No eyes on the suspect.
» The messed up sitting positions in the car.
» No car shielding = use safe alternatives – there were more things about this patrol car.
» I haven’t seen a gun, not even at the end?
Many more points but I leave it at this.
About the knife attack:
» They struggled desperately to stop the knifeman while trying to open the door to get out.
» The angles are all done in narrow spaces – See the difference between his right (mostly above head seat stabbing) and his left (space between seats). The victim on the left VS his dominant right inside attacks.
» You see the posture of this man so you can connect this to the power of the stabs.
» Again – a large knife is much more dangerous.
» The speed of the stabs and how quickly this one ends.
» The attacker showed us strike-stabs but also the push – stabs.
» See how he uses his supporting left hand.

Horrific moment suspected drunk driver stabs two policemen repeatedly inside police car.
One police officer was murdered and another is fighting for his life after a man they had arrested for drink driving stabbed them repeatedly in the back.
Senior lieutenant Aleksandr Lyamkin, 34, died after being viciously attacked by the suspect who was sitting in the back of his police car. His colleague Roman Polnikov was also badly injured by the suspected drunk, but managed to escape.
Video footage shot using the camera fitted to the officers’ police car captures the attack in the village of Kharlovo in Russia’s Altai Krai region at 1am last Friday.
The two policeman had arrested the suspect, a 38-year-old man who was not named, and sat him in the back of the patrol car while they filed a report. An instant when the drunk driver stabbed the police officers
He appeared to be almost falling asleep but suddenly pulled out a knife and repeatedly rammed it into the body of Officer Lyamkin.
The victim struggled desperately to stop the knifeman while trying to open the door to get out.
The maniac attacker then turned the weapon onto his colleague, who was also seriously wounded.
Officer Lyamkin eventually managed to get out of the car and walk a short distance before collapsing on the floor covered in blood.
The father of two was pronounced dead at the scene.
His colleague meanwhile rushed to the back of the car and held the door shut, trapping the killer in the car, who then stabbed him through the broken window.
Officers arrived and arrested the 38-year-old who, it was later confirmed, was drunk.
An instant when the drunk driver stabbed the police officers
Although not named, it was revealed that, despite having a criminal record, the attacker had managed to get work as a truck driver, and was worried he might lose his job for drink-driving.
He now faces between 12 and 25 years in prison for killing the policeman.
