» An effective disarming begins by a correct deflection of the muzzle direction. You see a few people - right side - during the first action of the guy in blue. Redirecting the gun that direction = no option. He did redirect it upwards, which is good but then you need to control the weapon and that was a problem. It was a gamble.

» During the struggle over the gun, you see the muzzle directed toward different people and that = dangerous. Similar CCTV footage shows us how badly this can go wrong.

» It's difficult to see but the man with the star on his shirt was probably the man who eventually disarmed the gun and then hitting with it, which is also dangerous and unnecessary.

OPENING - REDIRECTION - CONTROL CONNECTION (FIRST 3 IMPORTANT STEPS)

» If we talk about gun disarming in general, you need the correct timing to redirect and control the gun. Also redirecting is not enough, it must be followed up immediately by a solid control (many mistakes happen in this following controlling phase in reality).

- In the video, you see a constant moving of the gun and the man in blue detected a pattern in movement an anticipated on that. This is a realistic scenario which you need to implement in your training if gun disarming is your only option. Also, the connection between redirecting and control under stress and resistance must be an important segment of training.

- An often-shown clean follow up from redirection and a strike/control technique instructed by many self-defense "masters" is regular different from the chaos of reality.

- Overall, I understand the anger and frustration, but this thing could have gone wrong badly. I don't know if the gun was loaded, on safe or fake.
