Gas station clerks' plan to defend themselves from robber backfires badly - 2015/02/25
One employee tried to scare away the man with a yellow caution cone—but that didn't work so the clerk grabbed a baseball bat.
An arrest has been made in the beating of two gas station employees in a Saturday night assault at a Mobil gas station on the north side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The clerks accused a 21-year-old man of shoplifting and asked him to empty his pockets. One of the pair then tried to scare away the man with a yellow caution cone—but that didn't work so the clerk grabbed a baseball bat.
The second clerk, armed with a wooden stick, ran outside with the baseball bat wielding co-worker. The suspect then taunted the clerks before chucking a garbage can at them.
The attendant's plan to attack the suspect with his baseball bat was foiled when the shoplifter ripped the baseball bat from the clerk's hands. The shoplifter smashed both employees to the ground with the bat before fleeing the scene on foot.
Police arrested him the following day. Details of man's identity and the charges he'll face have yet to be released.
The shoplifting suspect clearly caused the most damage, however, it was the attendants who appeared to initiate the violence.
